Roberta's Blog on Moroccan Chicken

Jeff’s exotic, aromatic chicken tagine is not particularly spicy, and is thus relatively simple to match with wine .  Whether red or white, I suggest that a successful wine with this dish will have forward fruit flavors.

We enjoyed a Beaujolais Villages on the show.  It’s low in alcohol and tannins, and is light and fruity.  Drink it slightly cooled.

Alternatively, you could also try a substantial white wine, such as  a White Southern Rhône. The sunny climate ensures ripeness of grapes, providing good weight to act as a balance to the warm heat of the tagine.
